I painted most of this at Studio 2nd Street in Encinitas Ca. I finished it at home from photo reference. This portrait was part of a four year period where I focused on classic foundations in: perspective, anatomy, form, color and composition. Ron Lemen ( Studio 2nd Street ) was my primary teacher during this period, but, I also trained with several others including Marshall Vandruff, Jeff Watts, Bill Perkins, and Ray Bustos.
